KRSTIC was born in 1982 in Vladicin Han in southern Serbia, a town
known for its strong brass band traditions. In 1998 Krstic founded
the brass band Dzipsi Trik (Gypsy Bluff) and went to the Guca Festival
for the first time with Dzipsi Trik. Soon the band was getting top
honors: in 1999 Dzipsi Trik was voted best young band, and in 2001
Krstic won first priz for his age group, the prestigious Golden Trumpet.
Dzipsi
Trik is known for its innovative arrangements, drawing on pop influences
as well as traditional South Serbian rhythms like 7/8 and 9/8.
In 2002 the band was featured in an ARTE-TV film about Guca.
